Executive summary. Add somebody to your organization by recording their work address, then confirm the invitation is waiting under the Invited view.
Definition
An invitation records a person against your organization with a role, before they have signed in for the first time.
What to do
Open Settings, then Members. The list opens on Active, which is everybody who can sign in today.
Choose Invite Member. A dialog opens and your cursor is already in the Work email field, so you can begin typing straight away.
Type the person’s work address. Send Invitation stays unavailable until an address is present, which is how the dialog tells you the address is the one thing it cannot do without.
Choose Send Invitation. The dialog closes and a confirmation reading "Invitation recorded" appears.
Choose the Invited tab. The person you just added is listed there.
What the system does, and what it does not
The address is recorded against your organization with the role you chose, and the person appears under Invited immediately. That record is what a colleague can see and check.
Sending the invitation email itself is the invitation service, which is separate from recording the invitation. If somebody says they never received one, the record under Invited is still the proof that the invitation exists, and it is the right place to start rather than inviting them a second time.
The Invited view is a filter on the same list as Active, so switching between them asks the system again rather than hiding rows in the page.
Frequently asked questions
The Send Invitation button will not respond. What is wrong?
It becomes available once a work address is present. If you typed one and it is still unavailable, select the field and type it again: the button follows what the field has actually recorded, not what appears on screen.
